Intel has partnered with Elon Musk’s Terafab initiative alongside Tesla, SpaceX, and xAI.
Terafab aims to build a mega semiconductor facility capable of producing over 1 terawatt of compute annually.
The project will develop custom chips for humanoid robots and AI-powered data centres, supporting future automation.
Intel will contribute its chip design, fabrication, and packaging capabilities to help scale production.
The Terafab facility is expected to be built in Austin, Texas, near Tesla’s existing operations.
The initiative reflects Musk’s push to control chip supply and accelerate innovation in AI, robotics, and autonomous systems.
