OpenClaw has released version 2.0 (2026.8.1), calling it the largest update in the platform’s history. The release spans installation, messaging, memory, models, automations, browser tools, plugins and security.
A major new feature is Shared Cloud Sessions, allowing multiple users to join, contribute to or take over an ongoing AI-agent task while retaining its context.
OpenClaw 2.0 introduces a completely rebuilt browser app with live session tracking, progress cards and companion threads, making it easier to monitor and interact with AI agents while they work.
The update brings more powerful automation controls, including conversation-linked automations, recurring tasks, approval-based permissions and improved recovery for interrupted jobs.
OpenClaw 2.0 adds team-oriented features such as operator roles, shared Gateway profiles, session permissions and shared credentials, turning the AI agent into more of a collaborative workspace.
The release was developed with contributions from 933 people and more than 16,000 pull requests, underlining the scale of the OpenClaw 2.0 overhaul.
