Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 unveiled with bigger screen and 13-day battery backup

Samsung has released the Galaxy Fit 3 today as the follow-up to the Galaxy Fit 2, which was introduced in 2020. The new fitness tracker from Samsung features a larger display and a larger battery that can last for up to 13 days. Here’s a rundown of the device’s specifications and features.

The Galaxy Fit 3 comes with a 1.57-inch AMOLED display that can be personalized with over 100 watch faces available through the Galaxy Wearable app. Although Samsung hasn’t disclosed the battery capacity, it has stated that once fully charged, it can last up to 13 days with typical use. According to earlier reports, the Fit 3 is likely to have a 208mAh battery. For comparison, the Galaxy Fit 2 had a 1.1-inch AMOLED display and a 159mAh battery.

As per earlier reports, the Galaxy Fit 3 has a display with a resolution of 256 x 402 pixels and a pixel density of 302 ppi. It also has 16 MB of RAM and 256 MB of storage. However, it doesn’t support the installation of third-party apps.

To give users added peace of mind, the Galaxy Fit3 now includes safety features like Fall Detection and Emergency SOS. If an unusual fall is detected, the Galaxy Fit3 offers users the choice to contact emergency services for prompt medical assistance. In case of an emergency, users can send an SOS by pressing the side button five times.

With the Galaxy Fit 3, users can use it as a controller directly on their wrist. This includes using it as a remote for their smartphone camera to take photos and set timers with Camera Remote, as well as playing and controlling media on their connected device.

Users can automatically sync modes between their Galaxy Fit3 and paired smartphone when they don’t want to be disturbed or are getting ready for bed. If a smartphone is misplaced, users can locate it with the Find My Phone feature on the Galaxy Fit 3, or vice versa.

The Galaxy Fit 3 is targeted at markets like Asia, Central America, South America, and Europe. It’s set to be available for purchase starting Feb. 23, but the pricing hasn’t been disclosed yet. The fitness tracker comes in colors like Gray, Silver, and Pink Gold.
