There’s a new budget 5G smartphone in the town from the house of Xiaomi, which might just be the best bet for the masses. You must have guessed by now, we are talking about the all-new Redmi 13C 5G.
Starting at just Rs. 9,999 for the entry-level 4GB/128GB configuration, the Redmi 13C 5G is offered in two colors – Startrail Silver, Startrail Green, and Starlight Black. It weighs 192 g and has a thickness of 7.8mm. Despite its budget price, the handset gets a splash and dust-resistant body along with Corning Gorilla Glass protection for the screen.
The entry-level 5G handset also fares just about right in terms of the underlying hardware. It features a 6.74-inch HD+ (1,600 x 720 pixels) LCD display with a maximum refresh rate of 90Hz and touch sampling rate of 180Hz. The resolution might not impress everyone out there; however, the 90Hz refresh rate will ensure a fluid user experience.
The Redmi 13C 5G boasts a 50MP f/1.8 rear camera supported by a depth sensor. For selfies, the budget 5G handset gets a 5MP front-facing shooter. There’s a side fingerprint sensor and Al face unlock for security.
The Redmi 13C 5G runs MIUI 14, based on Android 13. In terms of the underlying hardware, the handset is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ SoC mated with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS2.2 internal storage.
Moving on, the Redmi 13C 5G is fuelled by a hefty 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. Xiaomi is offering a 10W charger in-box.
In terms of connectivity, the smartphone gets a 3.5mm audio jack, Type-C charging port, dual 5G SIM support, and even 5GHz Wi-Fi support for faster wireless internet.
The budget 5G handset offers a triple-slot SIM card tray, which means you won’t have to compromise on storage over connectivity. You can use two active nano SIM cards and a microSD card (up to 1TB) to expand the internal storage of the handset.
The Redmi 13C 5G comes in three options- 4GB + 128GB priced at Rs. 9,999, 6GB + 128GB variant priced at Rs. 11,499, and an 8GB + 256GB variant priced at Rs. 13,499.
