Huawei Mate 60 launched with revolutionary satellite messaging

The latest to revolutionize the smartphone market with satellite messaging is Huawei’s Mate 60. The phone is a successor to last year’s Huawei Mate 50.
Huawei Mate 60 flaunts a 6.69-inch LTPO OLED screen with up to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, and 1440Hz PWM dimming.
The display is covered with Kunlun glass protection. There is also an in-display fingerprint scanner for authentication.
The USP of the phone is that it supports satellite messaging, a technology that is currently available on iPhone 14 and Motorola Defy 2. While the Moto phone hasn’t been launched in India, the iPhone 14 doesn’t support satellite connectivity in India.
The satellite messaging feature allows one to stay connected even when there is no mobile network available.
Weirdly enough, Huawei did not reveal the details of the chipset that powers the new smartphone. It does pack 12GB of RAM.
Huawei Mate 60 comes in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB onboard storage options.
On the camera front, it sports a triple rear camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor with an f/1.4 lens and OIS (optical image stabilization) support, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 lens, and a 12MP periscope telephoto shooter with f/3.4 aperture and OIS support.
There is also an 8MP sensor on the front with an f/2.4 lens for selfies.
Huawei Mate 60 is powered by a 4,750Ah battery that supports 66W fast charging, 50W wireless fast charging, and reverse wireless charging.
It is also IP68 rated for water resistance.
Currently, the phone is only available in China where it has been priced at CNY 5,999 (nearly Rs. 69,000) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. The 12GB RAM + 512GB and 12GB RAM + 1TB storage models haven’t been revealed at this moment.
This phone has come out a week after the Huawei Mate 60 Pro, which has been priced at CNY 6,999 (roughly Rs. 79,400) for the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage model.
While currently there is no word on the phone’s launch in India, it could launch here in a matter of months.
