Tata Punch EV is going to be the next big EV launch from the house of Tata. Slated for a launch in the first half of 2024, the upcoming electric micro-SUV will sit below the Nexon EV and will fight the likes of the MG Comet EV, Citroen eC3, and Tata’s very own Tiago EV and Tigor EV. Today we decode all the important information about Tata’s upcoming EV. Let’s take a look.

Tata Punch EV Exterior Design

Tata Punch’s electric version is going to look slightly better than the petrol version. The cosmetic changes will include the new EV-specific redesigned grille with a full-width light bar. In addition to the EV-centric design elements, Tata will unveil the Punch EV with modified bumpers with redesigned headlight housing, new alloy wheels, and rear disc brakes. The Punch EV is also expected to feature new connected LED tail lamps.

Tata Punch EV Interior Design and Technology Features

Buyers will be greeted with a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a new two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, similar to the one on the recently launched Nexon EV. We also expect Tata to offer a range of feel-good features such as a digital driver’s display, wireless phone charger, automatic climate control, and sunroof.

Safety Features

The Punch EV will heavily emphasize on safety features. It will come equipped with ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system, and a rear parking camera with sensors. We also expect Tata to offer six airbags as standard to further raise the bar in the safety aspect for its buyers.

Tata Punch EV Variants and Powertrain

The micro SUV EV is reported to come in two variants- Medium range and Long range. The Medium-range powertrain will be powered by a 26kWh battery cell that offers an ARAI-claimed range of 315km per full charge. The Long-range powertrain will be fuelled by 30kWh and will offer a claimed range of 325km with one full charge.

Tata Punch EV Expected Price

The micro SUV EV is going to be expensive guys. The base variant could start at Rs. 12 lakh (ex-showroom), and the top-of-the-line variant could cost as much as Rs. 16 lakhs (ex-showroom). The price overlap with the Nexon EV will surely confuse the interested buyers. Stay tuned for more interesting details on Tata’s upcoming Punch electric vehicle.
